Variations on the Theme of Dante
ARTOUR-O contribution to celebrate the Sevenhudredth anniversary

700 unique artworks for the 700 years of Dante and 70 preparatory studies constitute the Tetraktys, a geometric configuration that dates back to the Pythagorean times: 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10, the sacred decad. The lexicon of 10 passionate artists explores the topic of Dante between focus, meetings, places rich with fascination, cenacles and a recreational moment that engages the observer both in the venue and online.

An original ARTOUR-O is back in Florence between Arte, Economics and Italian language.

This is the beginning of a long path that, starting from the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno, continues in the city and outside the walls, and comes back to Florence for the opening of the Museum of History of the Italian Language in Santa Maria Novella, with the City Hall of Florence among the Patrons.
The link between Arts and Patronage has ancient roots: from Pericles and Mastarna to Augustus, Lorenzo the Magnificent, Isabella d'Este, Popes, Princes, Emperors: all were great manager who used Arts as a tool to communicate their identity. ARTOUR-O il MUST since 2005 highlights the relevancy of Arts ad communication, even more so in times as confused as ours when the improper use of advertising celebrates sensationalism above Arts despite the laudable efforts to defend it.
I wish to refer to Giovanna Rotondi Terminiello and Paolo Maria Mariano and through them to Marc Fumaroli and Paolo Manazza who, with The purpose of Arts after 9/11 (O barra O, 2006) offer us a digression that touches over Immanuel Kant and Bergson, Nigel Warburton, Roberto Longhi, Raffaele De Grada and many illustrious scholars, worthy of a separate conference.

ARTOUR-O reassured by such company continues its path, begun in 2005, in the Arts of Today and presents 10 artists of Patronage, witnesses of the values of harmony, beauty, taste, culture and mastery.
