Anna Tavano is Head of Global Banking for HSBC Italy. Ex Managing Director Citigroup (Corporate and Investment Banking).
Anna Tavano is an executive manager with more than 22 years of expertise in the banking sector, working for leading institutions, based in London and Milan. Currently Head of Global Banking for HSBC in Italy, she has a great know-how in deal origination, advisory and execution.
Anna is an economics and finance graduate of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Before taking on her present role, she began her professional career with Citi in London, in 1997. From 2000 she was employed in the Fixed Income-Capital Markets division, where she managed a team in charge of originating and executing a wide range of structured finance and principal finance transactions for financial institutions, corporates and central governments in Southern Europe. Subsequently, Anna Tavano worked for Citigroup as Managing Director in the Corporate and Investment Banking Division. She was Vice Chairman for the Corporate Bank in Italy and Head of Public Sector. There she attended large corporate and public sector clients.
Throughout her career, Anna took up also the role of Director General in the Italian Public Sector. In her last role she was in charge of the infrastructure and public transportation department for Lombardy Region, managing more than 140 people.
Anna is strongly committed to help women with their career and to the broader issues of diversity and inclusion in the financial and corporate sectors. Anna Tavano took part in the inaugural “in the Boardroom” one-year training programme on board membership for top women managers, sponsored by ValoreD and GE Capital. She also attended “The CEO School” which trained a selected panel of women to become future CEOs.
